OUR REGION

WE ARE TASMANIAN

Tasmania is an extraordinary island. Its natural beauty and wilderness is captivating, cultural experiences are diverse and its food and beverage offering is excellent. The clean air, unpolluted environment and geographical location are ideal for cool climate agriculture and the proximity of people and place facilitates innovation.

Being separated from mainland Australia by Bass Straight has generated a culture of resourcefulness and drive to create premium and niche products for high end markets. At a personal level, many Tasmanians feel grounded by a deep sense of place on their island state. Our roots are here too, and we are proud to be part of the evolving Tasmanian epicurean ecosystem.

WHERE OUR INGREDIENTS COME FROM

Where possible, our ingredients are sourced from Southern Tasmania which enables us to practice our passion for creating quality food, with low food miles while minimising waste. Provenance is also important to us.

Based in the Huon Valley renowned for its fruit production, we have direct access to premium high quality, cool-climate product and all of our organic apple and cherry suppliers are within the wider Southern Tasmanian region.  This is a major factor in our ability to produce organically certified products that have become sought after for their quality and hand-crafted nature.

While apple production is still significant, it now has a thriving export cherry industry, vineyards producing highly acclaimed fine wine, and a reputation for producing award-winning cider.
